“A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2014.”
/ /
Izzy: My right-hand assistant in our office-makeover paint job. Clicking on the image for a larger view will better reveal the few remnants of awful peach paint that used to cover every wall in the office, most of which is now covered in a fresh coat {or three} of white. I’m so amazed at how white paint covers and brightens and brings new life to tired, old walls.
For a more beautiful and eloquent post on white paint, read this. It made me cry. Maybe I will explain just why in a future post.
.
so so sweet
🙂
he’s my sweetie. i squeeze him daily and tell him to stop growing up so fast. i am so going to miss this stage. 😦
This is such an adorable photo! And white is one of my favourite colours – not that peach isn’t special in its own way. 😉
not this peach, H. it was the dingiest peach i have ever seen. it was actually depressing… not a color you would think could evoke such emotions. but now it is as bright as can be, and i love it. it will likely be my go-to spot for photographing anything that i need ample light for.
I was totally joking about the peace. Brings me back to my childhood and acid wash jeans and perms and big bangs. We actually have a family photo from when I was a kid where we are all wearing peace tops and jeans. Stylin’! 😉
Peach, not peace!
you and me both! powder blue and peach were my favorite colors, i think. oh, the humiliation! braces and big hair with water fountain bangs and lace collar on a powder blue sleeveless dress. there’s a reason none of those “styles” have come back.
And thanks for sharing that post. It made me tear up too. Beautiful words.
isn’t it beautiful? she is such a gifted writer. i love the way she writes. her posts always have so much symbolism, but symbolism that is relatable, you know? have exchanged a couple emails with her, and she is every bit as lovely “behind” the blog as she is on it. that’s how i know what she writes there is genuine and heart-felt.
How many comments can Heather leave on one post?!?! Seriously. I just wanted to say thanks for doing this project. I finally updated my blog with a bunch of weekly photos and am so very glad I have those photos and this record. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
haha… you can leave as many as you want, H. it only makes my blog look like a much-read popular spot to visit. and i won’t pass that up… even if it is only just a few people commenting… or in your case, one person commenting numerous times. 🙂
so you are doing the project52 as well? cool! i need to go see your blog. i have a tab open for it all the time, but whenever my browser quits, it means i have to log back in to your blog… and i have not memorized the password yet. need to go search for it in my emails.
I adore this shot.
Off to go read that post you referred to.
thanks. you will love her blog and her writing. i secretly wish i was her in the sense i wish i could write like her. =)
love her photos, too!
And I know I already commented on this post, but I just adore this photo so much. Have always loved your photography, but you are doing a beautiful job documenting your sweet boy, G.
And I’m sorry for all the comments at once! I read your posts as you post them, but it’s often on my phone and I’m not able to comment. So then when I finally have time on the computer I’m able to come back and leave the comments I meant to long ago! Thinking of you. xo
thank you, lady. always love to see your name pop up… whether once or seven times. it always makes me smile. and thanks for sharing your thoughts about it all… the photography, life… all of it.
